Cleantech company Entrans receives financial support from VINNOVA

Entrans AB has received 460,000 SEK in funding support from VINNOVA Research and Grow programme for its electricity generating heat pump, FlexiGen.

FlexiGen - an ORC system that generates electricity from heat (60 ° C and above) and acts as a heat pump and chiller, all in the same machine.

Entrans AB receives support for its innovative combination of ORC technology, heat pump and chiller that converts low-grade thermal energy into high-grade energy in the form of electricity, heat and / or cooling. Known as FlexiGen, it addresses the primary system between 50-350kW as ORC power plants and 0.5-350MWsom heat pump and chiller. The grant will be used to build a small FlexiGen that generates 1 kW of electricity from 60-11oC heat.·It can also be used as a 10 kW heat pump in winter or as a chiller in summer.

"The grant from VINNOVA confirms the market potential for Entrans' technology for smaller systems such as for buildings and vehicles," says Johan Hellqvist, CEO of Entrans AB.

This smaller FlexiGen system has the same design as the larger versions and will serve both as a demonstrator and a technology platform for the development of smaller systems.

About Entrans
Entrans AB develops and sells equipment of low-grade heat to produce electricity, high-grade heat and / or cooling.·The company's products are based on Entrans patented FlexiGen technology is an extension of ORC technology (Organic Rankine Cycle).·ORC works the same way as a steam turbine does, except that it operates at temperatures as low as 50°C. Entrans FlexiGen is an ORC power source, heat pump and chiller in the same machine. FlexiGen has the potential to revolutionize the use of waste heat for generating electricity, district heating or cooling.

Entrans has funding from Innovationsbron AB and is a member of Sweden's most successful business incubator, STING, in Stockholm.
